Polyfest and Kapahaka Learning Story

In Polyfest and Kapa Haka I can relate well to others. I can do that by being a leader and making sure that my whole line is straight and being disciplined. This helps us to be ready to perform and practice. My evidence is that when I put them straight in the line, I do it kind and respectfully, so that they don't get angry when I do it.

In Kapa Haka and Polyfest I am a good role model by singing loud and proud, and the learning the actions, so I can teach the younger kids the actions and lyrics and so that they understand and that they get it right. As a leader its my job to help others learn the words and actions so they feel confident when they preform.

Tia and I sometimes teach the poi dance to all the girls who don't know it, sometimes we teach at lunch and it takes up all lunch time but oh well. When we teach the poi we have to be patient and so do the students. For example the day when we first started the poi they didn't really know how to do it but when we taught them they got the hang of it and performed it really well.

In Polyfest and Kapa Haka I am discipline and respectful towards our tutors:, Matua Todd, Matua David, Whea Clair, Mrs Ardelle, Mrs Perez, Ana and the rest, that's why im the leader for Polyfest, also Polyfest and Kapa Haka we had to teach the little kids how to do the right actions and the right lyrics so that they improve and so that they knew what to do.

At Kapo Kapo we performed our Kapa Haka and our Pacific group. It felt really good representing my school, family , and myself. And also being on stage, showing everyone how hard we worked and all our effort that we had put into our performances.

When I walked on stage my hands were shaking nervously, my face went pink once the spotlight hit me. I knew that if I just walked out there and performed well then it will be all over, so we performed well and represented, ourself and school perfect except one mistake.`
I am discipline in Polyfest and Kapa Haka.

Next Steps: To take a risk and be a leader at Kapa Haka, to lead a song or Karanga.
