How I shone at Aims Games
I shone at Aims Games 2015, when I was hungry for the ball and working hard to help our team to win. Amis Games is a National sports tournament played by over 96 schools over the whole of NZ. Four schools from overseas also came down to compete with us as well. I got the opportunity to compete in a really hard tournament based in Tauranga with my amazing, supportive, crazy, funny, and talented Jade Netball Team.
As I turned to my right to see what we were up against, pins and needles began from my foot and up to my hands. The umpire called the 30 second call, we looked up to Nat, I could see little tears of joy coming out of her eyes. She said to us “We Believe!" “We Believe!” was our motto for the week.
At this last game, in the last quarter, I knew it was my time to shine and to get rid of all the negativity out of my mind and focus on winning. I was shining when I was defending my opponent from KeriKeri (A school we versed). I saw in her eyes who she was going to pass the ball to, she looked to her left and passed it there. I was able to intercept the ball and throw it all the way down to Blessing, which made us come down to 2 points behind.
I shone by using my thinking skills by thinking of who to pass to to get it down to the other end. I managed to get another intercept which made us come a draw with the other school.
I also shone by listening to the referee's even when they made a wrong call, I just had to suck it up and play a fair game.
Another time I shone was when I was playing my best with all my might and not giving up, on the first quarter of the game when I was playing GD, it was as hard as WD, but I still had to give it all. I helped my team
