2015 Leavers Book!!

            Hinas Year 8 Leavers Book

Off to college for me next year i guess?, wooow 8 long lasting years at Corinna School usssssh.

Whenever i walk into Corinna School i feel welcomed and loved by all the students, they make me feel happy and safe knowing that they have my back.

As a young 5 year old walking into Room 2 seeing new faces made me get the chills, I was a bit shy when stepped foot into Room 2 because i never knew anyone but Tuaoru, she helped me to be confident, we even became best friends but I went to another class and left her in Room 2 HAHAHAHA.

The greatest experience for me at Corinna School was when the Corinna Jade Netball Team got the opportunity to compete in the Aims Games 2015. This is a national sporting competition held in Tauranga.. This was the first time Corinna has competed.

I would like to thank Mrs Perez for making this trip possible. Mrs Whiting for organizing it and making sure that everything was going to be all right. Parents, for supporting us throughout our years of playing netball. Lastly, Nat Makirere for giving up her work and spare time just to come and coach us to be the best net ballers out, Not only that but for believing in us and being the bestest coach.

Another greatest experience for me at Corinna School was when i joined up to be in the Kapa Haka, i attended Kapa Haka at the age of 11, we've learnt a lot of songs and a lot of things that i never knew before i joined up. I had amazing, wonderful, talented tutors that believed in us and helped us realize that it's important to treat each song like something we loved deeply.

I would like to thank my AWESOME Team called Corinna Jade. We were taught to have each others backs and believing in each other.

It's been a long journey for me at Corinna School because I've made and met a lot of friends along the way especially this beautiful, talented,, funny, awesome best friend of mine. “Analosi Johnson Paulo”.

I will miss all the students at Corinna School and all my teacher as well. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them tbh!, Thanks to Mrs Whiting for teaching me lessons and helping me turn into a better leader and year 8 student.

I would also like to thank every single teacher I've had for helping me to grow into a strong, confident year 8 leader. I also would like to thank Nash and Taiki for helping us get this far in Tackle Rugby, and giving up their time to come a train us, and also for helping out in the classes… Czzarp

I Learn Best At A Desk

Make sure, when you find your golden key, it fits in the lock.

I'm going to be talking about the difference between old style of learning and 21st century of learning.

Old school to me means, students had to walk in lines as if they were soldiers marching beach onto the battlefield. Students had to move from class to class still walking head high, body straight, no talking, just listening to the sound of the breeze and footsteps.

You had to learn the same things at the same time, in the same class, even if you weren't on there levels. Boys had to wear blazers and ties and girls had to wear dresses. But why? we should be able to make and have our own choices. Its our Life.

They had to write notes as the teacher stood up the front telling the class what and when to do. Teachers would be strict to the students if they didn't finish their work on time or if they turned up late to class and well more.

For me I strongly believe that 21st century of learning is extremely better than the old style of learning. We have the choice when and where to learn. We also learn on Chromebooks which is a very helpful tool.

Shine bright in everything you do, but most importantly, be you.
